Adam, Eve, and the 7 Laws Broken on Day One – Happy Noahide New Year!

The universal birthday of mankind is the first day of the seventh month—the first of Tishrei on the Hebrew calendar. On this day, Adam and Eve were created. For Noahides, Jews, and all humanity, this date marks the very beginning of our shared story. It’s the birthday of the human race. Jewish people still celebrate it as the first of the High Holidays, calling it Rosh Hashanah.

And yet, that very first birthday wasn’t a celebration of joy—it was marked by mankind’s first fall. Adam and Eve managed to break, in one way or another, all seven Noahide Laws right from the start.

What If Adam and Eve Hadn’t Broken the Laws?

We usually think of the story of eating the forbidden fruit as a simple Bible tale, easy to overlook. It can even seem like a minor mistake—like taking something small without paying.

But the Garden of Eden was meant to be a world of eternal life, harmony, and peace. This paradise is exactly what we strive for with our Messianic beliefs.

The Seven Noahide Laws—belief in God, respect for His name, honoring life, keeping relationships pure, respecting property, caring for creation, and upholding justice—were the framework for that world, as well as the world to come.

Yet in the fateful choice to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, all seven were shattered:

• Belief in God was weakened when His command was disobeyed.
• Respect for His Name was disrespected through disobedience.
• The gift of eternal life was forfeited, bringing death to mankind.
• Purity of relationships was corrupted by the serpent’s deception.
• The fruit was stolen, violating the boundary of what was permitted.
• Creation was harmed—the serpent cursed, harmony shattered.
• Justice was denied, paradise lost, toil and pain ushered in.

Imagine if those laws had been upheld—if Adam and Eve had chosen trust, respect, and restraint. Humanity’s story could have begun in peace, not struggle.
